Royal Caribbean reported: Freeport – A fire in the mooring area of Grandeur Of The Seas forced it to dock at Freeport in the Bahamas on Monday. All passengers and crew were safe but the rest of the seven-night trip cancelled after it left Baltimore on Friday. The 280m ship was en route to Coco Cay, Bahamas. Within about two hours the fire was extinguished and the 17-year-old vessel was redirected to Freeport. As a result of the damage, the rest of the trip was cancelled and passengers were refunded their fares and offered a free cruise in the future. “Royal Caribbean International is deeply sorry for this unexpected development in our guests’ vacation,” the company said.
