Rock of Cashel or Cashel of the Kings and St. Patrick’s Rock, is a historic site located at South Tipperary, Ireland. Most bus tours drop into Cashel for a few hours. The town itself has a busy main street, authentic store fronts and several distinct pubs. Some designer shops feature on the Main Street, including the Kilkenny Shop. The Rock of Cashel and Hore Abbey are amazing structures and if your family traces from southeast Ireland, you may discover your last name carved into a headstone. If you’re interested in really learning about rural Ireland, you can spend a few days in a local B&B, or you can walk the Rock, meander through the Abbey, enjoy a light meal if you’re on a whirlwind tour.
