Royal Caribbean’s Quantum-class will continue the cruise line’s legacy of innovation. Entirely new features will appeal to the cruise traveler. When the idea of “surfing on a cruise ship” first came out, it was thought to be something that would not appeal to many cruise travellers. Yet it went on to be so successful that when Qasis-class ships came out, two machines were added to keep up with demand. The same happened with RipCord by iFly, which Royal Caribbean describes as “the first skydiving experience at sea”. The third feature is an engineering marvel. It takes guests in a jewel-shaped, glass capsule more than 300 feet above the ocean and over the sides of the ship to deliver awe-inspiring 360-degree views.
