Chris Ashton wrote for Yahoo (10 May 2013) and warns against scams, especially when making online holiday bookings. Scamming cant take a number of forms. They can list non-existent accommodation. Another favourite is to use existing accommodation without the knowledge of the owner. This is done after hacking the holiday venue’s website. Assuming the identity of the person responsible for the booking they lure potential clients into making fake bookings. This advice can be applied anywhere in the world: Firstly always double check every bit of information you receive. Secondly, be suspicious of any un-solicited mail. Thirdly, don’t tale information at face value simply because it seems to be in, or from a reputable source.
