TWO pilots of Vietnam Airlines have been fined and suspended for a month for allowing model-turned actress Ly Nha Ky, who is also a former tourism ambassador for the country, to pose in the co-pilot’s seat on a flight from Hong Kong to Hanoi last month.
Photos have surfaced online and were published by news website vietbao.vn showing the Vietnamese celebrity wearing a pilot’s hat and sunglasses. Nguyen Trong Thang, chief inspector with the Vietnam Aviation Agency, told news website Toui Tre their actions were a “threat to aviation security and should be punished”. While the autopilot was on at the time, aviation safety regulations were still violated because the co-pilot left his seat. Also, allowing an unauthorised person into the cockpit is against the rules.
